“Ampernalli” Cultural and Folklore Association of Soroni, Rhodes, revives every year, on the eve of St. John Klidon (locally: Kalafouniaris), celebrated on 23 June, the custom of Klidon in the yard of the Folklore House in Soroni.
It’s the evening when bonfires are lit to burn the dried-up 1st of May garlands and young men
and women jump over the fire.
Traditional sweets and delicacies made by friends and members of the Association are served and children’s groups dance local traditional dances.
